Using Glass Globes as Wedding Décor

Glass globes can be used in many different ways in your wedding. Whether your goal is to be surrounded by flowers or to create a romantic glow with candles, glass globes can accommodate.

Below are some great ideas for how to incorporate glass globes into your wedding.

Glass Globes with Candles – This couple from New York used glass globes filled with candles to add atmosphere to their ceremony. Glass globes hung from the ceiling are a creative and beautiful way to define the ceremony space.

Flowers – In this use of glass globes, flowers are placed inside to accentuate the wedding colors. Ask your florist for advice on blooms that will not wilt too quickly once they are removed from the stem.

TerrariumsCraft Gawker provides a tutorial on how to create a succulent terrarium inside a glass globe. Terrarium globes could create a fairyland feeling if placed in groups in the middle of reception tables. Try adding some moss and wood around the terrariums for added emphasis.

Glass Globe Favors – Since you’ve decorated your wedding with glass globes, why not give them to your guests as favors? Place a printed thank you note inside and add a few suggestions for how to use the globe at home. Or, put an LED tealight or some extra plants in their globes as a memento of your day.

Ask your wedding location if you are allowed to hang the globes from the ceiling. Using clear fishing line to suspend the glass globes gives the illusion they are floating in the air.

Which glass globe idea is your favorite?
