Sand Dollar Touches for Your Wedding

For a beach wedding, sand dollars are a beautiful touch.

If you look closely, you will see there is a flower on the face of a sand dollar. And did you know inside each is a set of “doves?”

Whether you attach a spiritual symbolism to them, as some Christians do, or just like their beautiful look, sand dollars can be used many ways in your wedding.

Boutonniere – Adding a sand dollar to your groom’s boutonniere or your bouquet adds a touch of the seashore to your wedding day look.

Sand dollars can be fragile, so it may be best to glue a pin back or jewelry finding to the sand dollar and attach any wire to that, rather than trying to wire the sand dollar directly into the arrangement.

Place Cards – These sand dollar place cards look so beachy nestled into a tray filled with sand. Use a light touch when writing the names by hand, or use a ribbon around the sand dollar to attach the name card.

Cake – Sand dollars are a neutral color, so they can easily be integrated into a traditional white cake design, or added to a colorful cake, like this one shown.

Caramel Corn Favor – Your guests will love this edible treat. Present them with a bag full of caramel popcorn, adorned with a sand dollar, of course.

Sand dollars make a terrific theme for a beach wedding.

How would you integrate sand dollars into your wedding?
