Ideas for Classy Bachelor Parties (and Great Groomsmen Gifts)

With movies like “The Hangover,” the groom and groomsmen may feel like they have to have a raucous weekend in Las Vegas or go to a gentlemen’s club for a Bachelor Party.

If that just isn’t the groom’s style, there’s no need to forego an evening spend with the bros.

Here are four ideas for alternative Bachelor Parties.

Sporting Event – Whether it is a football, hockey, baseball or basketball game, most men like going to sporting events. The guys can have a tailgate before the game and then root on their favorite team together.

To make it a really special treat, the groomsmen might consider renting a luxury box or getting club level seats for the group.

The groom can give a personalized sports item, such as this baseball, as a thank you gift.

Tour a Brewery or Distillery – Going to crowded bars and nightclubs may not be the groom’s style, but perhaps he still appreciates a good drink. With a booming craft beer and micro distillery, there is sure to be a local business offering tours. Often the tours are accompanied by sample sized tastings, allowing the guys to imbibe responsibly.

A personalized beer mug is a terrific keepsake for the groomsmen.

Go Hiking/Camping – For the outdoorsy groom, a day spent exploring the wilderness is a terrific activity. Or they can make it an entire weekend with a camping trip. Think of the lifetime full of stories they will create as they bond without tv or the internet.

Guys can’t be caught camping without a multi-tool complete with utensils, a bottle opener, serrated knife, scissors and more. Be sure to give them all one to take with them.

Laid Back Cookout/Poker Night at Home – For a super casual event, have the groomsmen over for a backyard cookout. All you need is a grill, somewhere to sit, some cold drinks, and a bit of music.

If this seems a little too slow, throw in a friendly game of poker or a yard game.

Why not give them a personalized soft sided cooler to keep their beverages and snacks cool?

Groomsmen may feel pressured to throw a rowdy Bachelor Party based on popular culture. There are plenty of other ways the guys can bond make memories; believe it or not many groomsmen may feel relieved to just spend some low key time hanging out together.
