Bridal Wear: Alternatives to Wearing a Veil

What is a bride to do if she wants to look lovely on her wedding day, but doesn’t want to wear a veil? Luckily, there are alternatives to the veil that will highlight your hairdo and frame your face. Below are some veil alternatives.

Tiara – What girl doesn’t want to feel like a princess on her wedding day? A tiara will complete your look. A tiara complements “princess” style dresses with fuller skirts well.

Flowers – Ladies have tucked flowers behind their ears as decoration for ages. For a more traditional look, opt for a white flower. Or, for eye catching contrast, try a bright flower matching your wedding’s color scheme. You can use either real or fake flowers; just be sure to use sturdy pins to secure them into your hair. Emmaline Bride shows lovely dusty rose colored flowers for inspiration. Flowers compliment almost every style of wedding dress.

Hair Comb – A hair comb with crystals or pearls are a great way to some more subdued sparkle. Whether you are wearing your tresses down and wavy or in an up-do, a comb can easily slide into your hair to complete your wedding look. Try a hair comb with a sleek satin gown.

A veil is a traditional wedding accessory, but don’t feel limited to wearing one. Keep in mind there are other options to make you look and feel your best on your big day.
